I like these but see Watches of Switzerland have them priced around £12k or just under. I have just seen a new one sold for £7,500 on Watch Collecting which would seem an absolutely incredible amount of depreciation - and which would lead me to think big discounts must be available unless I'm missing something. Any insight welcome...

That kind of drop from RRP was pretty normal, but so were chunky discounts. I bet you'd get a decent amount off RRP without trying too hard.

Not that model specifically but you can get 4 years interest free credit on high end Seamasters without any problem so that should translate to at least 20% off for up front.

I thought hefty Omega discounts would've been fairly easy right now, but was in the Edinburgh store and the best they would offer off a Seamaster 300M on bracelet was £300. I'll hold out on it as I'm sure much better than that is achievable. He kept telling me "But we can do 0% finance" and it made no odds that me saying I'd buy it there and then for a better discount, I had no interest in taking finance.

EDIT TO ADD: Obviously not a high end Omega so maybe a bit irrelevant!

A few of the brands have got tougher on discounts while things were booming. It may take them a while to catch up to where things are today.

The Omega Boutique in the Trafford Centre has them in stock at rrp £10700, I tried one on last weekend when I bought my speedy racing.

Discount is entirely possible if you're paying in full (ie no finance) wink
