Looking at purchasing and Exige but I don't have a garage

I plan to keep the car outside from apx May - October and then securely store away from my home over the winter, occassionally taking out on dry days to give it a run.

Can anyone recommend insurance companies that would cover this type of situation. Not having much luck at the moment.

I don't want to cover the car for obvious reasons.

Thanks in advance

I would talk to a broker and let them do the legwork.
I use Nowell and Richards as do quite a few on here but others like A Plan are also supposedly pretty good.
The outside your home cover is probably the easiest bit to solve but it might also be worth your while in talking to the storage people you are looking at for that 6 months cover.

Try the NFU - I do similar, sometimes in store, sometimes at home. They're quite helpful, I just talk to them (yes, real life people on the 'phone) when it goes in or out of storage. No charge either.

Thanks for the advice so far. Tried a few, but some wont insure because I don't have a garage, some because the car value is too high, and one because it was too old! (2014)! Funny old world

very hard to advise without all the risk details as you may have it parked on adrive in e london or Liverpool!! again the value has an effect on the rate.

better looking for a future classics policy that will cover your car on a drive with limited miles per year but not sure you will want to pay the premium.

I was looking for laid-up cover fro my Westfield and got a price from one of the usual insurers of kit cars. Horrified at the price, I contacted A-Plan and they found standard specialist car cover which for a one thousand miles p.a. road use it was much cheaper than the stay at home laid-up cover from any other source. Admittedly it is garaged in my case, but it's still worth a try.

Just got a quote (without storage) i.e keeping on my drive year round - some people say Exiges are OK to be left out (well what can I do as I dont have a garage) and cheapest is £168 per year with Esure! That's really cheap. I live in Suffolk - private drive, 1200 miles per year, car valued and £56 and I am 51 years old with 20 years no claims and no accidents and points over last 5 years!

£168!!! for a 2014 Lotus 350 CUP!

I pay £500 for the Audi SQ5 , how can that be????

Lol - is that agreed value or just valued at ?
Esure will base it on their stats and obviously if you hit something in the Audi it will probably do more £ damage than in the Exige.
Your mileage is also quite limited I guess.
But well done - that does indeed seem very cheap !

Hey there! No, not agreed value - money supermarket valued the car at 34K!!!!! I put in 56K as that is the selling price.
