2008 Vantage sportshift starting issue

Looking to see if anyone one has had the same issue. Car has been sitting for 4 months and the battery has gone flat. A new battery has been installed, Now when i put my foot on the brake and push the key, Most times there is nothing on the dash. No lights. If i take the key out and keep trying, eventually it will start. Sometimes the start sequence will seem to work, but the car will be in gear and not start. I picked the car up from the garage, that fitted the battery,they also cleared any faults caused by the battery going flat. At the garage i then it started first time and drove to a petrol station. I then sat for 5 minutes, pressing the alarm on and off, before it eventually started. I arrived home and then switched the car off. It took around 20 goes before the car started again. When the OBD reader was plugged in, it showed no issue with starting. Any suggestions?
