I raised a thread recently to help with my search for a petrol estate/SUV for a family of 3 plus dog. My heart was set on a Stelvio although I've been looking at other options suggested by the forum.

From left field I've found a 2020 Clubman JCW for a good price from a main dealer. The 306 bhp appeals! I suspect price reflects it's almost a 90 day car, possibly due to being 2 owner and a bit more miles than many. Taking the wife and dog to view one tomorrow to see if it's big enough. I know my wife would prefer the smaller dimensions of the Mini over the Alfa.

Anyone had any experience of these please? Must have spec/options for resale?

TIA.

Surprised this is quiet, although Sunday perhaps.

There is a reader's ride thread for one of these, at least the engine if not same model (!) although I'll be buggered if I can find it. I have a funny feeling the title isn't particularly clear.

No matter, I looked at these, start from 25k unless Cat, options are, of course, all over the shop. Welcome to mini!

I thought that HUD was crap, the HK Audio was moderately good, I suspect the base setup is pants, so I'd look for that. Colours make no sense, some want resale red, others want really exotic stuff. I like white silver myself, but with black roof etc is a bit dull, but garish with red, which seems a common combo.

This is One of the threads, there is defo another, but with an unclear title. It was that one which told me it had 306bhp, so I got interested too!

I’ve had a 2022 one for 6 months. What do you want to know specifically?

For 2020 I think that would have been in the Comfort and Nav pack options stage? If so then the Comfort plus pack with the camera and front sensors is a good addition, because…the rear door opening takes a bit if getting used to when parking. Having the camera makes it easy to go to the second line etc.

It’s surprisingly quick, and yet still decent mpg (35 over 5k miles for me). Varying reports of less good ride if the tyres are the run flats, so may be worth checking that.

Personal preference, but they are colour sensitive, I.e. some really dislike the dark colours, other like. Especially if you have the red roof - British racing Green is nice, but…not with a red roof!

Blue with red is a bit of a shocker too. They sold, so some people must like this mass of stuff going on!

I quite like that, maybe the side stripe is a bit much, certainly more interesting than the 'any colour you like as long as it is a shade of grey' palettes many cars are available in.

Thanks gents. I was straight down the dealers after reading this.

Despite being voted dog car of the year my mutt found the boot uninviting. The sill to roof aperture is lower than I expected. Dog says no, so wife says no. End of.
