Britain’s not got talent
Discussion
I’ve had the misfortune to be in the living room while the OH watches BGT. In the 15 minutes I’ve seen it, one act was from Columbia and now there are a dancing act from Mumbai. Is this an admission that there is insufficient talent in Britain to provide a decent watch or, as I suspect, this has just become a bloody gravy train for Cowell and his judges?
Based on what I’m seeing tonight, it’s a load of poo and couldn’t be any worse if they actually tried to find and promote home grown talent. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with acts from outside Britain but the programme hardly reflects its title.

BGT contains more screaming and shouting from the audience than any other product
I've noticed so many times that if you see a shot from the back of the stage looking at the audience during an act, the audience is basically doing nothing, yet the sound overlaid is of an audience screaming at the top of their lungs and cheering etc. Very annoying.

Lots of things annoying about this show, which is a shame because sometimes you do just get 3 mins of something really awesome, and that's what keeps me watching. The French Beatboxer last week was pretty epic IMO

What annoys me is there is loads of great singers, dancers and bands that could be on a show like that and it would be great.
I may be wrong but it did feel like X Factor was a better platform for genuinely good singers - potentially singing to a live audience every week for many weeks, showcasing lots of range etc etcLots of very good singers have performed once maybe twice on BGT and never heard of again.
For the record, I couldn't stand X Factor after watching a couple of series many years ago, and I switch off to the singers on BGT.
TBF, the singers they generally get on BGT aren’t the sort of singers that The X Factor are looking for.
It’s the f
king dance acts that piss me off.
BTW, I went to be in the audience about 10 years ago, the production staff hold up plaques with clap, stand up, etc on them, they also halt the auditions to get the cameras in front of the judges to record a lot the facial reactions.
