Hi Boys just fitted my new carbon dash today its the dogs:clap:Only took a hour to fit

Iam well pleased with me new carbon bits and a bargain at £150.00 for the dash and the heater surround

I guess it's a matter of personal taste, I admire the craftmanship but the looks don't appeal to me at all. I guess I've come to associate carbon and metal dashes with competition prepared cars where looks are secondary to function / weight. Starting from a fully trimmed dash, these exposed metal/carbon dashes look unfinished to me (in an "I don't care, I'm here to race not to look pretty" sort of way). Nicely fitted anyway.

Seriously though, eddie's done the paint job, now the dash, I can see this as being one of those showcase cars, before we know it, come 2006 Cream, he'll have the whole car looking a million dollars, gotta respect that, nothing wrong with asthetic modifications for personal pleasure, I/trackcar/carbon al/craig/many others encourage all of it, but we love the custom work like eddies doing, it keeps you loving your baby, you can compare it to the missis buying a new pair of shoes every week...

To be frank, the brigade thats always spouting 'keep it stock' belongs back in the 1920's. TVR's have always been about outspoken-looks since the griff days, so for cerbie owners to push with personal asthetic mods - its the only way we can justify not upgrading to the 'clown' cars...

I'm not at all opposed to aesthetic modifications, I don't personally have enough spare time and money to put much effort in that direction (I'm more interested in how it goes than how it looks tbh) but I appreciate the work put in by those that do. I'm just expressing my personal opinion that these metal/carbon dashes are not to my taste. I admire the craftmanship that goes into making and fitting them, but the originals look better imo.

I know you well enough to know you mean well bud, was just grinding the stone...

I dont know, but in the cerb, the brushed ali-dash feels right at home, I feel all wierd when its that dodgy laminate wood thing... carbon is definitely a very racer'ish look, but who knows where eddie is heading with his car... to me it seems he'll soon be looking at the engine too and serious mods in that department also... cant wait to see where his project ends...
