Hey guys,

Checking what your thoughts are in this situation:

My father passed away yesterday (no need for kind words, I'm not looking for them, we don't know each other, so I'll just take it as implied, thanks smile ). Before he passed away my sister was added onto his insurance policy so she could move him and my mum around. Sis will be inheriting his car, ownership will be transferred and the car will be insured in her name, but that will take a short period of time. In the meantime, is she still insured?

TIA

Ask. Dad's car was insured by Tesco when he passed in January. Called them and the answer was effectively we could drive it as long as we needed to.

There is a very similar thread a few down.
If the policy was in your Dads name and your sister has been added as a named driver then you will still need to call your Insurer first just to be on the safe side.
If the policy has already been transferred to her as the main driver then she is fine.

When my Mum went last year I had the same issue, phoned them up (direct line) and was waffling on about it and the nice lady said “I can add you/sis etc to the policy for 6 weeks FOC”….job done!

Cheers
Jim
