Alarm keeps going off!

Friend of mine has a car with factory fit alarm and it has recently been having alarm issues with it going off randomly, particularly at night.

As far as we can tell, it’s not the doors or bonnet etc as nothing shows on the dash display as being open and all the interior lights go out when the doors are shut so we are putting it down to potential interior sensor issues.

We have looked through the book and the dash menus and there is no way at all of disarming the interior sensors so I was wondering if a bit of electrical tape over each one would render them inoperable for the time being?

I have no technical abilities by the way!

What car is it?
On a lot of cars you can disarm the interior sensors temporarily.
Have a look in the handbook if you have one.
