I've just finished the Modern Warfare 2 campaign mode, not really interested in playing multiplayer at the moment.

Only other game I own is GT7, and I'm feeling a bit sorry for my PS5 not being able to flex its muscles and show me what amazing games there might be out there.

So any suggestions? I'm so out of touch with games these days I don't even know what TYPE of games there are out there these days. Back in my younger days things like GTA, Tony Hawks, Command and conquer, Goldeneye, Theme Hospital, Fifa to name a few would steal my hours.

I'd say I'm probably open to most genres, just keen to try something that people know is good as I don't really spend that much time gaming, so don't want to waste time on dross.

On the PS4, Elden Ring and God of War were standout games for me. I've just bought a PS5 and will be playing the PS5 version of ER, and God of War : Ragnarok

Hmmmm yes I think I had a mate who raved about that actually, good shout, I'll look into that.

Any idea if it's one of those where you need to have played previous ones or can I just dive into the latest one?

if you want to dip your toes into God Of War, the version on PS4 i dead cheap now and still well worth playing.

Resident Evil 4 the remake is also very popular at the moment.

Oh I do like a good horror game!

Is that Resident Evil Village or just 4?

The remaster of Tony Hawk 1&2 is really good if you enjoyed the originals, i'm an Xbox man rather than PS5 so i'm less au fait with the exclusives on there but the new God Of War games look the business

Resident Evil 4 is a remake that was released about a month ago.

I hear 'Stray' is good. It's about a lost cat.

Stray is great yes! But it's not very long, took me about 5 hours I think. Still worth a look if you want to dip your toes into something light. I'm hoping they make a sequel somehow, that's just bigger.

I still not sure I've played a game that shows the PS5 flexing its muscles. Ratchet and Clank kind of shows off the solid state I guess with the speed you flick from one dimension to the next? It was the first game I played on mine, really enjoyed it

Also really liked Deathloop. That has a really clever way of feeding you bits of info so you eventually figure out how to win. Again, not really flexing it's muscles

Elden Ring I put a out 200 hours in before I gave up having not got particularly far and finding it pretty repetitive. Sorry, I think it's overrated.

I need to play Resi 4 as I only got to the village before I started playing the pixel remasters, then other stuff has got in the way, so after Resi 4 it will be either FF16 or the new Zelda. And that's basically the rest of the year for me!! laugh

I’ve just (a week ago) started playing Elden Ring, epic, but don’t ruin it with YouTube spoilers.

Huge game, difficult learning curve, but well worth persevering with.

The Last Of Us. Part 1 and then Part 2. If you've never played them, heard anything about them etc. then I sincerely envy you, I wish I could play them through again and experience it all for the first time again smile

A bit 'horror' I suppose, but very story driven basically. Don't google anything about it, just go in blind and enjoy smile

Part 1 is great, part 2 is an absolute mess, gorgeous visuals and gameplay, but utterly rubbish storyline

Try Uncharted 4, its a great game and easy to pick up and play for the casual gamer, I find a lot of modern games just far too complicated, U4 isn't but its still a challenging game with a great story.

Sadly I have played the first one twice and done the second one. I also wish I could go back to having not played them and do it again haha

I would also suggest both of the Spider-Man games.

Read Dead Redemption 2 and GTA5 PS5 versions do actually bring out the power of the PS5 visually.

whilst I havent got into it myself, as others have mentioned God of War is quite the PS5 revolution.

Don't forget the free game, Astros playroom! Showcases the PS5 controller really well and is a lot of fun with loads of Easter eggs.
