Hi all,

My daughters corsa d 1.3 cdti was regen more than usual I've take it off to use some wynns cleaner on it but I've noticed there's a small piece of honeycomb loose at the end of the dpf I can see it moving about through the pipe.
Probably 2 inch square if I can cut it open and weld it back up can I still use this dpf ? There pretty expensive compared to what the cars worth even second hand

The pressure sensor will be finding there's a pressure drop and that's probably more than the parameters can cope with. Hence the constant regen.

I fear a replacement is on the horizon.

I have a 12 plate Berlingo which was suffering 100% ash. So I bought some brick cleaner, did 75% water 25% acid and cleaned it out, Took a while with the pressure washer. So if you could get a used one in good order, it's worth cleaning it and popping it on.

I couldn't be 100% sure in your case, but they're mapped to expect a certain pressure. If the pressure isn't within parameters, you can expect some sort of issue. However, you could always try to jam it in so it doesn't rattle or move and see what happens.... Perhaps try the brick acid clean before you do. It might help, but all it does is remove the ash. As I said, my own personal car was in limp mode and the code showed Ash 100% so I cleaned it and now it's back to flat out no MIL....

Be careful as now you have cut it open if mot guy notices it's been tampered with he may fail it.
It may be covered on yours but just a heads up.

I would agree, but if the OP welds it shut it should be fine. My own car has a band clamp so you can get in with no issues. I can't tell from the photo is it has such a clamp.

But, I may have, ahem... angel did a de-cat on a car of mine (a V8 beast) and then I made some shields to protect the cats from off road damage bowtie so if the tester wanted to see welds, he was going to need X-ray eyes hehe

Suffice to say, nothing was said bounce
