Have Legal & General sold my information on to other companies?
About 16yrs ago I took out a Legal & General life assurance policy for my wife, the policy comes to an end in about 5yrs time. Lately I have received cold calls from companies claiming to be calling 'on behalf' of L&G who try to get me to extend the policy rather than let it end. Though I'm sure they are really trying to get me to take out a new and longer policy with them, rather than extending the Legal & General policy. Yesterdays call was from 'Top Quote' who claimed that L&G have passed control of my policy to them, though I doubt this is true.
They know all mine and my wife details, and policy number etc, and have all the clever talk about how it's cheaper to extend the policy now rather than when it comes to an end etc. I decline and end the calls, but it made me wonder if L&G have sold my information to other companies who then cold call me to rinse me?

We’re a life insurance broker and I personally have had the same call from top quote even though I have never had a L&G policy.
There is 100% a set of data being sold in the market with your details on, but it wouldn’t be L&G who have sold your data.
