Hi,
I am looking at an Mk1 Macan Turbo - 3.6 V6. Has anyone heard of bore scoring on this engine? I have seen it pop up a few times on US forums but have not seen it pop up in the UK.

Any majority reliability concerns outside of the usual transfer case and timing chain cover issues?

You'll get a reply from the PHer who insists all Porsches are nails, and most of the rest of us who've never had an issue with any age Macan.

In all my time on multiple Porsche forums I've not seen anything about Macan bore scoring.

Me neither. The only issue I've had, other than the inevitable transfer box swap which costs nothing and signifciantly improves the driving experience, is a speed sensor failure. I think that was just a random faulty component, not an endemic issue with Macans.

The only problem I ever had with mine was the transfer box, which was sorted under warranty. It would have cost thousands if it wasn't mind you!

Loved it while I had it.

The only issues I'm aware of on Macans are transfer box which Porsche have extended the warranty on to 7 years, some reports of an oil leak from the front of the engine (timing chain cover?), leaking tube feeding the rear wiper and camera (but I think this only affects Gen 2 onwards|) and leaking sunroof due to blocked drainage channels and/or failed gasket between the sunroof cassette and body.

Of the 3 Macans I've had I've only suffered the sunroof issue on my current car (GTS) but Porsche fixed it under warranty and not had any problems since.

My macan had a transfer box, minor oil leak and sunroof leak (caused by previous service not clearing the water pipes). All sorted under warranty. Mine was the GTS though, not the turbo.
