Air intake rejig

I have a Weber intake plenum sitting on top of my carburettor but struggling to find a filter to fit to it! Seems there is a hose kit that attaches to it for a remote filter but I can’t find one anywhere ? Personally I’d prefer a filter to attach directly to it, so what I’m thinking is if I could attach a flat aluminium plate over the end it it wouldn’t be difficult to then weld a K&N intake kit to the plate is it possible to weld onto cast aluminium??? Ideas please 🤞… I can figure out how to attach a photo either!!

Is the radiator in front of the engine? If yes then it's well worth finding / building an air filter to draw cooler air away from or in front of the radiator.

As to filter type use a paper element like the OEMs do.

Rad is indeed in front of engine! MG mgb Sebring. Thanks for the reply ! I’ll have a look at the website (OEM)
