Thanks Bodo,
but I did say novice, this looks a bit involved for the basic messing with pics that i'll ever do.
wish there was something in the
'Ladybird' look & do range, that I could read in the bath

Tip number 1

open a picture - choose the 'clone' brush (it's icon is two little brushes) - right click anywhere on the picture - left click and scribble elsewhere on the picture. You'll get the drift - make people appear/dissapear etc. Change brush size to make life quicker.

Just to add: there are many other ways of doing this... but cloning is a great way of touching up pics... getting rid of telegraph poles coming out of peoples heads can be made to dissapear by cloning the sky next to it etc.

hmmmm...works here make sure you are holding the left mouse button down when you are scribbling!

And: tip 2

(different way of doing it)

open hippo.. choose the freehand lassoo tool (looks like... um... a lassoo) - hold down left mouse and draw round head - copy (ctrl C) then open the pic with the human... and paste (ctrl V) move the head till it's in the right place.

Then clone to touch it up.
