Yesterday I acquired a Monaco so I started thinking about the road so far, where to go next etc.

I think I do have a good variety with these and cover many bases, what do you guys think?

1. 2008 Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Quantum of Solace Edition (I alternate the steel bracelet with a Spectre NATO one)

2. 1990 Breitling Chronomat 81950

3. 1955 (?) Lemania 105

4. 1998 Tag Heuer Monaco CS 2111 (thinking about having it on a tan perforated bracelet, to give it a more sporty look)

I also use an Apple Watch as an "easy" watch, but I see it more of a geeky gadget than anything else, just to play around with watch faces.

Appreciate your inputs! smile

Perhaps add something with some colour on the dial / bezel?

What about Grand Seiko? They have some lovely dials.

Nice little collection, though I don't understand how anyone can think the NATO is a good look.

I never understand nato, i would get a nato style strap at a push. Is it because Bond once had one?

I would say you have some nice wearable watches.

Now’s the time to start going a little crazy!

Corum Bubble

Few things with colour

Smaller boutique type brands

This kind of thing is what I have done. You may only wear each one a few times a year but why buy another black face stainless steel watch to pick from.

All imo of course and you’re very welcome to ignore all of this.

I don’t understand. Surely you’re buying watches that appeal to you - what possible benefit is there asking others to comment/advise on your collection?

These are just watches; you’re not putting together a library of valuable literary works.

I wouldn't put any more money into the hobby. I think your collection is ok and could look a little more modern with some tweaks. If I were in your shoes, I would:

1. Wear the Apple Watch more. Lower service costs and more utility.
2. Change the Breitling strap over to an OEM padded Breitling strap. For some reason, Breitlings really suit the original padded calf straps.
3. Keep the Omega on its bracelet. That model doesn't suit NATOs due to its size, proportions and style.
4. Get a black calf strap for your Monaco with white stitching. I have a feeling you will tire of the tan perforated strap. The white stitching on black calf will make it look very very sporty.

Shouldn't cost you too much money to have fun with what you got. At least you are smart enough to have an Apple Watch in the mix smile

I find that by asking other’s opinions you may not get exactly what they suggest but it can lead you to find something similar or a different model they make.

Exactly this, thank you. I wanted some ideas from more expert collectors. Of course, if the suggestion does not work for me, I will not follow on it.

I already got a good piece of advice: colour! My dials tend to be on the black side, it just kind of... happened.

This is also appreciated, playing with wristbands and bracelets, thanks!

Chop one of the Omega's towards the cost of a JLC maybe?

Love the brand and would love to, but there is just one Omega, I just have it on different bracelets according to season/mood.

A good and cheap way of getting more watches is to get more straps, as you have done with the Omega.

Imagine an orange rubber strap on that thing!

A bright GMT could be a nice addition.

Nice collection.

Given that you like chronographs, how about a moonwatch?

Yes, I am indeed interested in it, but haven't found the right one yet.

I have added a tan rally bracelet to the Monaco to get ready for Le Mans, I find it nothing short of sublime and makes the dial pop better.

I don't think Tag makes this colour anymore, so I went aftermarket. The strap is good enough, the deployment clasp is awful.

I would like then to buy an official one, with the correct in-period Heuer-only logo, item number FC5042:

Do you think it will fit the unofficial strap? Width is not concerning me much, more like that the clasp will not attach to the bracelet securely because it could be too thin.

If someone has one for their Monaco, Autavia or Silverstone, I would gladly ask for some measurements. wink

Cheers!
