The new logbook usually arrives within a week from my experience.

You can sell the car without a v5 as it is "not proof of ownership" - lol

You must make it clear in the advert however that you don't have the v5 and that the new keeper will have to sort that out for themselves. You will have to give a suitable discount for this inconvenience.

Dealer probably just left it on the 'to do' list as is their want!

Got one in 4 days recently. Does sound like the dealer just kind of forgot.

I don't want to be that dick on PH but I'll go there.

Surely if the car's SORNed then you could "sell it back" to the original owner, minus £100 or something for the inconvenience, seeing as it hasn't moved?

If you've got a trailer to move it with then you can offset the lack of V5 with delivering it to someone, seems a fair split (assuming you also pay for the HPI checks etc).

Or are you just a trader trying to flip cars and got burned on one car because you haven't got the paperwork, aren't registered as an official trader, and don't want to add another owner to the V5C?

Please prove me wrong if you can, but I can't be the only one who has an eyebrow raised as to why someone would buy a car and within 2 days decide to sell it privately, asking for advice about the V5C that the seller will now be sending off with your details on as the next keeper.
