A quick one for you!!!!
Discussion
I am running AOL 9.0 and whilst online I keep getting these messages poping up. A small box calling itself "Messenger Service" They are no more than adverts for software! I do have a pop-up blocker running.
How do I stop them? I have asked this question before and got an answer, now I can't find the thread.

Also have a look at the AOL Key Word "Web pop-up controls".
AOL 8 and 9 display a small box at the bottom of the window that allows you to control whether you allow pop-ups on a site by site basis. Some sites (mainly US) seem to fail to respond if pop-ups are switched off.
I set the block ot ON but have a few sites recorded as exceptions.
I suspect the AOL stuff is just making the same sort of changes that IE settings will.

Cheers mate. These are not normall pop-ups! These are "Messages" which look official and can be alarming to the ignorant. The advice in the linked thread as done the trick and stopped them!

Is it me, or is AOL software stickier than a sticky thing from stickyville, USA? You cannot get the stuff off you computer!! I threw my old comp out of a window, on the 32nd floor, burnt it, ran over it with a steamroller, and sank it in the river..when retrieved, AOL was still on it... Pain in the arse! My old dear got one of those poxy free discs for 90 days, or what have you, and I cannot get rid of it!
