Having never owned a V12, I thought it was about time so I've taken the plunge and bought a rather lovely China Grey V12 Vantage S.

It seems like everyone loves an Aston as it does get admiring glances and even a thumbs up from a biker as she passed me the other day!

I missed the Beaulieu show, is there anything else coming up in the Summer? I'll be joining AMOC, is there anything coming up on their calendar?

still puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it

get the secondary cats deleted and enjoy the aural delights as well as the looks

Congrats and welcome.
I love China Grey especially with the yellow calipers and interior bits.

Well played. I had my eye on them during covid as the prices had dropped, shame (for me) that they seem to have gone back up again!

Thanks all ... the secondary cats have already been removed, but I have them and I was thinking about putting them back on to see whether I prefer it a little more discrete.

Might be easier to just get a 2 way switch fitted to control the valves.
Worked well for my 6am morning departures when I was working.

Congratulations on your purchase from a fellow V12 Vantage S owner (albeit a Roadster).
We have to enjoy these while we still can.
A friend of mine also owns a China Grey V12VS!
Great colour. Enjoy the (s)miles.

Which fuse is it on the V12 that controls the valves? I had a look at the boot fuse box and they all seemed to be fitted.

It should be fuse 15 in the boot. Take a look here. This is the sort of thing alscar is probably referring to. Change one of the relays, and the two wires plug in to either side of the fuse slot. Easy enough to fit and it is controlled with a remote fob.

Lovely car by the way. Welcome to the club!

The other alternative is to have a rocker switch hard wired in and put on the steering column.
Works did this when they also took out the secondaries and on my previous V8 , Cheltenham did the same.
Obvs more expensive than Clive’s solution as mentioned which I’ve only ever heard good things about.

CCCharger is indeed a great bit of kit for the price.

However, my car is a 2016 and it was bringing the emissions service light on so removed it and took fuse 15 out. The first two times it came on AM Notts cleared the fault, when it came on a third time it was taken out.

The fact it was bringing the light on may be due to a slight difference to the wiring e.g a bit of wiring from the newer model Vantage. Aston Installations couldn't get the CarPlay to work consistently no matter what they tried whereas in the 2015 models it's been faultless I believe.

Lovely looking car OP biggrin

Yes of course. I forgot to mention the hard wired solution. Certainly another option for the OP and it does look more OEM. As moktabe said, perhaps it’s worth considering that on a later car, although it will definitely be costlier. I’ve never had any issues with Clives in mine but that is in a non S older car.

BR have a very neat location for their 3-way rocker switch, completely hidden out of view, but easily operated.

Interesting. Mine’s a late 17 and this happened to me once. I left the house in open mode. Short trip, parked then onto a longer trip and got the emissions service light. I sort of suspected it was because I had it in open mode from cold, short trip, restart. I cleared the code. Never had it happen since, but honestly, I never really use it as the car is very loud anyway in sport mode with the secondary cat delete.
