Just done oil and filter service including air filters. Removed MAF and sprayed with 10k BOOST to clean thermistor and other pickup wires. What a difference it makes to running and mpg. I amazed. Probably most don't do this easy clean when servicing. Please do. Regards Craig

Unfortunately I am at the hands of my dealer for these things as my abilities dont really stretch beyond washing and polishing.

Having never hear of 10K Boost I googled it and they make all sorts of products - which was yours? And which Aston did you use it on?

Following my success with changing the top hose yesterday, next week I'll have the engine out and be re-boring the cylinders with my trusty Myford ML8 nuts

It's called Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner. I used it on my DB9. Any modern Aston will have MAF sensors that you will find between the air filter and throttle body.

I suspect I may get some stick from some but, for various reasons, I have only driven 240 miles in my 2011 V12 Vantage since it was serviced in June last year. I have now received the reminder for the next service. Would you go ahead with the service or simply leave it a bit longer? Thanks for any advice!

So, out of interest, how would I reset the service light? (2007 V8 Vantage)

Youtube is your friend here. This link is for your car, there are videos for most variants.

Don’t sweat the service, it really is not as important as so many on PH seem to think. The only important thing is changing engine oil at 6-10k miles. Whether this is within a year or 3 years makes no difference to the car. The only potential downside is resale - it seems many potential owners will freak out if the new oil in your car is not religiously swapped for more new oil within 12m

Following the below will do no damage to the car:

Engine Oil/filter - 6k miles up to 3 years but max 2yr between changes is advisable to not put too many future buyers off.
Gear oil - up to 10 years
Brake fluid - 4 years, mileage not significant. Far less if tracked, just like brakes/ tyres
Air filter - depends on environment. Saudi, max 1 yr, UK, 4 yrs or 10-15k miles whichever first. Neglecting just reduces engine performance.
Pollen filter - see air filter
Coolant - 4 years
Plugs - 60-70k miles or when they start to fail /misfire
Coil packs - when misfire or OBD scan tells you they are failing
Auxiliary belt/tensioner - 40k miles or 6 years whichever first, or when it starts to squeal.
