Currently saving up for my next car which i am gonna purchase next march/april time. Anyway, its between a lotus S1 111s, S2 sports tourer, VX220 n/a or honda s2000.
Heres how the insurance quotes came out (for my current situation- 22, 4 yrs NCB, IAM, no points- mum as named driver- bought all quotes down by approx £200:D, with elephant)

S2000- £1350
111s- £892
S2- £908
VX220- £680

VX220 it is then :D
dont get why the more powerfull 111s is cheaper than S2? just down to the age value?

Statistically there are more claims against the 111S and S2000 so therefore they are higher risk cars compared to the VX220. Strange but true...

An odd way to choose a sports car?

Forget looks, perforance, style, passion etc. Just insurance. I hear the insurance on a punto is quite cheap.

Mainly because I would rather walk than own a VX220................. At the end of the day, insurance is a factor, but only if you can't afford it full stop. A couple of hundred quid, well worth paying to get the better car.......

At 22 mate you're better off accumulating the NCB yourself. You'll get kicked in the nuts now but you'll be better off in the long-run.

If you're considering an S2 Sports Tourer why not consider a standard S1 or a special edition with the unmolested K? Could be even cheaper.

People always say this but i just dont see it? Probably wouldnt even get quoted for a policy at 22 with no NCB and even you did it would be £1000's, but when you are 30 and try to insure with no NCB its not going to be that much more compared to the £1k plus a year that had been saved for the first few years on his own policy?

he is on his own policy though!

I'm 22 aswell, but I paid £1140 on my standard S1 when I was 21, with 4 yrs ncb.
