Do women have a lack of urgency?
Discussion
Had to call a couple of suppliers at work the other day, to chase up some missing paperwork.
The bloke at [big supplier] faxed the invoice through within about thirty seconds of hanging up the phone.
The woman at [other big supplier] obviously took her time as I didn't get the invoice until the end of the day.
That's all I'm saying.
gazboy, another idea, a 10 million candle power rechargeable torch for aroun 28 quid delivered.

We were out on the Motorway in 2 cars today and the lead car was driven by a girl. She only pulled off an exit ramps at the very last second, only indicated 3 inches before the junction and merged in across the chevrons!
As well as being a really crap driver, she had no urgency at all

i suppose you could call this lack of urgency.
as some of you know part of my tooth fell out last wednesday. rang up my dentist and spoke to the secretary, told her what i needed doing and when the soonest time i could get it fixed was. she said tomorrow at 2.10pm
waited all morning just to get my tooth fixed and get to the dentist at 2.10, then wait 35 mins and get seen by me dentist.
turns out the stupid secretary didnt tell the dentist what needed doing. she didnt give him the urgent information i told her, and so, the dentist did
all to my tooth
i call that a lack of urgency.
if i hadnt have paid another dentist i would had to wait until almost 2 weeks. looking like a redneck all the time until then
glad i paid to be honest, the job is much better than what he did last time

I dont think this is gender specific, some folks just havent got any bloody spark to them at all, even if you plugged them into the mains. With women as a generalisation though, it is the sheer amount of time they need to get ready or organised to go out. It isnt a problem in our house because we always agree a time that we will be leaving at, it is set in stone and non-negotiable, so other members of the household simply prepare earlier so they will be 'on time'.
Take going on holiday for example. We will agree that we will be leaving the house and setting off at 06.00 hours precisely, so I get up at around 05.00, shower, shave etc, pack my bags and have a cup of tea. We leave at 06.00 exactly. Mrs BG will have to get sorted the night before, and get up at 04.00 hours to meet the deadline, which is fine. I dont understand why she needs most of the previous day and three hours in the morning for this, but its not my problem and I dont get stressed about it.
What is clearly understood however, is that the car will be driving away at 06.00. We recently had a week in Dartmouth, and Mrs BG knows full well that I would have left at 06.00 without her and she would have had a week at home alone, or followed on in her own car or got the train.
This doesnt make me a total b*****d, it's just an understanding that is needed to avoid any stress or upset and makes for a relaxed holiday.

I'm sure BGs reaction is to the following.....
(Usually) women who like to 'control' a group by being consistantly late and throwing fits if you dare to criticise.
You see it in convoys too - the couple who have to stop at *insert attraction/bar/antique shop etc here* when it was agreed beforehand that this behaviour is out of order. Coz of course you 'wont mind coz it's only a couple of minutes'.
Barsteds.
