Custom / modified Seiko watches
Discussion

Sharing as I don't know if anyone else here is aware the customised / modified Seiko watches available. I've commissioned one to my own liking, similar in style to the Omega 300. It's no luxury watch, but surprising how much you can customise these. The watch will use a NH35 Seiko movement with a custom watch face, titanium bezel and sapphire crystal. Has anyone got a custom watch ? What movement is it running and who built it? The image is one from the chap that's creating mine.

Some of the seiko mods you see are amazing, but I can't get past the fake dials. Might well be an NH35 movement, but the rest is knock off. I've had a lot of fun playing with hands and bezels on an old Seiko SK007 but the parts are pretty poor quality.
If you want the Seamaster look, there's plenty of well made homages that will cost a lot less than a mod and be properly made from decent materials.

Liking that. Where would you go to commission one?
Tried to message you but says you can't receive emails. The watch in question is from the Etsy shop linked below. Says out of stock but if you message the guy on Instagram or etsy he'll make you another. He's the chap making mine

I’m not seeing any Seamaster lookalikes amongst the modded watches posted.
I would agree that there is perhaps a question to be asked about a watch with SEIKO on the dial that has all aftermarket parts, and only a Seiko nh35 movement, but I don’t really care.
The seamaster style case is available, as are many others, here's one example I found online I would agree that there is perhaps a question to be asked about a watch with SEIKO on the dial that has all aftermarket parts, and only a Seiko nh35 movement, but I don’t really care.

Thanks Crude. Not really my bag, but interesting and I’m sure it’s well made. I wonder, if someone put together a Milsub with an old Rolex movement, Chinese case/hands/dial, but Rolex on the dial, would ‘the watch community’ react in the same way?
