hi just wondering is it bad to run a gt3 mk1 on 95 octane fuel...finding it harder to get super plus every day.... the engine also sounds different on 95 octane fuel compared to super plus.. much louder on tick over!!...also.... whats the best octane booster to be using...??

95 is fine, just you will get poorer fuel economy (super plus pays for itself in economy improvements). You might also feel a slight change in power delivery, but very very little. It can take a couple of tankfulls for the car's automatic knock control to adjust correctly, hence there is no point in switching back for a single tankfull, as the benefits would be lost.

So 95 is definitely ok? The sticker in my RSs filler says 98 RON...

In your manual, page 4 it will say:

"Porsche also recognizes that these fuels may not always be available. Be assured that your vehicle will operate
properly on unleaded premium fuels with octane numbers of at least 95 RON (90 CLC or AKI).
since the engine's "Electronic Oktane™ knock control" will adapt the ignition timing, if necessary."

Optimax is the only 98 available isn't it ? BP Super used to be 98 I think but is now 97 I believe.

Many performance cars specify 98. The occasional use of 95 shouldn't cause any problems but best not to make a habit of it.

98 freely available on the continent though (just a long way to fill up).

My 997 'runs' on 95, but it feels like it's 50bhp down, it's awful. Other owners have said the same.
