What is it, and why can’t it be shipped using normal channels?

So what is it you’re trying to buy? Would it be considered contraband, or illegal outside of US borders?

There are numerous freight forwarding services that can help (just google), assuming it’s legal too. You have it sent to the shippers local US address, and they then send it on to you.

Thumbs up for Shipito from me. Only a couple of small things, but worked just fine.

I have used Davies Turner for shipping part load containers from USA to UK.

They seem to have a regular service leaving Chicago every month, usually arriving at Liverpool en route to their bonded warehouse.

Much cheaper than UPS air cargo and usually better presented.

Their HQ is up north but I deal with the Dartford office. IMHO a decent outfit.

I use STS Imports. they bring a container over once a month and although it can take up to a couple of months to get my items it is nice and cheap

Winning so far. Lead time is, as you say, lethargic. But that's how she blows isn't it.

Extremely competitive, and rapid communication.
Yep, I've used Ron at STS imports numerous times now for car parts large and small'ish. You just get what you're ordered delivered to the Warehouse in the US and Ron will do the rest. A point of note you may have issues using a UK based credit card for the purchase. A work around I have used was Amazon pay or STS can purchase on your behalf if you ask nicely.
