It's broken down already!!

Hello everyone. Been planning to introduce myself when I got some time, but been too busy enjoying my new car. It's a 1999 Maserati 3200GTA. Bought privately two weeks ago. It has been AWESOME. Went for the auto as my wife frightened herself driving a manual. It is still tricky to drive, ASR light comes on frequently (I will never turn it off!)and there is zero engine braking effect. I am frustrated that I keep having to flash brake lights at following drivers. It's noisy, esp tyre noise, the drivetrain is noisy too. (I am getting an occassional "moan" from the auto box when upshifting during gentle driving. At pace this dissappears. Is this normal?) Was intending to buy from a garage but ended up buying this from a retired car dealer. It had 11200 miles and is certainly the cleanest I have seen. It has a very extensive history from H R Owen and Marannello. It is booked into Bill Mcgrath for a full service on 13th Sept.
Just had a very enjoyable 2 days with it. Brought it back home and unloaded it. Went to move it into the garage and "donk," the starter will not operate. AA man reckons the motor needs changing ( I showed him the thread from here on starting problems). Plan to recover it to Bill Mcgrath next week. So now have plenty off time on my hands...

Unfortunately I can't make the meet on 24th, have a previous engagement.
