You mention 90k plus smaller bonus - would that still be more than 107.5k ?

I really don't understand that someone at VP level has to come on here and ask about negotiating their new salary. To my mind a VP should be at the top of the negotiating tree already and telling them exactly what you want.

VP is a very American term that's entered the British work place, generally here is mid senior management level.

It's similarly weird that if you were looking for advice about negotiating with a new employer, given you have the entire Internet to choose from, the place you'd create your brand new account and ask the question would be on a car forum.

OP - I have a slightly mercenary take on it but find out what you’d get elsewhere, ask for it and be prepared to walk if you don’t get it. Ideally have an offer from somewhere else lined up.

You need to go back and explain your request for more money with the evidence to back it up. Market rate might be X and in addition to that you can explain the achievements that you personally have achieved and why you deserve that extra dollar.

Be professional as always but objectively explain that although you want to make this work, the additional responsibility and duties without a commensurate increase in pay is unlikely to work in either side's favour and the last thing you want is to be in a position where 6 months down the road you're resenting the role and are looking to move on. It's in everyone's interests to reach a figure that you can work with.

Take VP within any US organisation with a huge pinch of salt.

A proper 'VP' wouldn't be on here asking for advice with those sort of numbers..
