Firm wants holiday allowance used in notice period

Handed in notice as accepted a job with a competitor firm

Advised I have to give 4 weeks notice taken as garden leave

Just received letter saying that I had 5 days already booked as holiday in June leaving 2 days to take within the 4 weeks notice

Can they do this? I can sort of live with the 5 days but I feel I should get paid the 2 days in addition to my last month's salary?

Have I got this wrong?

Standard clause, I handed in my notice last month after taking no holiday until then, it's being used within my 3m notice period...they're paying me to not work after all...

I would say you've got it wrong.
You are being paid to 'not work' your last 4 weeks after all .
