Replacing my 2020 Model 3 SR+

I've had a model 3 since march 2020. it was a revelation when i got, really quick really interesting, and really low company car tax! The only complaints from the family (and Dog) is that they all preferred to be driven around in my old XC60 as it was posher, higher riding and had a proper rear space in the back. But i loved it and i was a proud tesla owner, at least until they became as common as muck.
Tessie goes back in march 24. So i wondering what to replace it with. It has to be electric (for the BIK) The obvious answer is a model Y, but honestly it will feel like i am driving the same car, every 3rd car in my part of the world is a model Y and Elon Musk has evolved into a total dick so I fancy something else.
The Audis, Mercs, and BMW eSUVs are all much more expensive or have shorter range, and I've spent enough of the last 3 years at superchargers to insist on a real life range of at least 250 motorway miles. I keep coming up withteh Kia EV6 GT- line (RWD).
are any other model 3 owners facing the same question and coming up with a different answer?

I also had a 2020 SR+ from new (back in the days when they were a very rare sight on the roads!).

Really happy with it. Better range, waaaaaay better put together, plus lots of incremental improvements over the previous 2020 SR+.
However, if the EV6 GT (325bhp one) was available on our scheme, I would have seriously considered it.

That is interesting. I discounted the polestar, as it got two expensive once I'd specced the driver assist (i know that I'll miss the teslas semi self driving)
I currently have to take my daughter to/from Univserity which is 160 miles away. so a 320 mile round trip. and i have to do stop and charge 3 times.
Would you be confident that you could do 160 miles (fully loaded with student stuff) on a single charge in your new one?

Well, I can give you a very exacting answer, as in Easter I had to do pretty much that!
Charged to 100%.
Had to run an errand (10 mile roundtrip).
Then packed up the car to the gunnels (4 people and all luggage for the week - car was rammed full).
Drove 150 miles to destination.
Arrived with 39% battery remaining.
2023 RWD.

that is good to hear on the range of a new one....
I guess i am such a user of the supercharers, because my range is relavitely low.
non tesla chargers, can be hit and miss, but the new gridserve charging points (m5 exeter has over 10 350kw chargers opposite the teslas) are giving me confidence that i could live withou tesla and the EV6 has 800 v charging so even at 350kw it should be faster than the a tesla.
can anyone suggest anything interesting other than a tesla, polstar or EV6?

Genesis GV60? I'd go and try a Model Y though, its quite a bit larger than Model 3 and would also benefit from later build and improvements, probably more XC60 style driving position if thats what you want.

Suoperchargers are increasingly opening up to other makes and the few service stations I've been to lately seem to have a lot of money being spent in upgrading the charging capabilities - Hilton Park Northbound looks like its going to be massive soon, or already really big - I'm thinking Rugby and Exeter, I can't say I've stopped at many others lately but there certainly seems to be a changing picture and once you know where the big sites are you tend to plan your route accordingly.
I'm very tempted by the BMW iX - if its a company car it comes down to the monthly amount and not the list price so maybe worth looking at

Sadly the iX is out of my budget, and it isnt pretty.
On the subject of budgets, I've seen that on my scheme the cost of a replacement Model 3 is now looking at monthly additional contributions of £180, my current car is costing me just £19 a month.
Which is another reason for me feelign bitter a another tesla, being asked to pay a lot more for the same thing.

Just changed my SR+ for a Long Range
Much better range and surprising boost in speed (yes straight line acceleration can be seen as a one trick pony, but its quite a trick and never get bored of it)
I would say not far of a performance, particularly when moving.
It doesnt solve your issue of higher driving position but as a saloon car its great

It is a company car, so keeping it isnt an option. and honestly, it is quite nice to have a new car every 4 years.
I did like the Genesis, but it is too expensive on my scheme- which has monthly charges that almost random compared to the list price.
I am probably going to go for the EV6 GT line. it is cheaper than the model Y RWD and has an extra 50 miles range. The only thing stopping me from ordering it now is the outside chance of a fisker ocean ultra. My lease company have been saying that the fisker will appear on the list in the next few month or so. But i am not sure whether or not I believe it.

nope it is Zenith, they have pretty good coverage, Polestar, Cupra, genesis and MG are on the list, I've also got ORA (if i want a funky cat) but no BYD, DS or fiat.
they claim that they have added Fisker to the list, but my Employer has to select it, but I am not sure whether or not that is true.

Arval will put on their portal whatever manufacturers your employer asks them to. For me, that means only car manufacturers we do business with, which unfortunately rules out some good options. They don't have Polestar, Cupra, MG or BYD on their portal for us!
I’m swapping my Model 3 Performance for a 2024 Polestar 2.
