https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-6577...

Saw this yesterday and not seen anyone else post about it.

The details on it seem a bit vague, and had noticed he was not covering Monaco F1 which I thought was odd.

I assume it means hes done for on the BBC too - shame really as thought he was a good commentator.

"inappropriate behaviour" could mean anything in the current snowflake climate.

Ben Edwards is too good for Formula E Mario Kart, they should let Vernon keep the mic and stick him on a Starbucks IV drip.

No idea in this case, but generally a likely scenario is a bloke groping his partner indecently in public.

That would trigger others to complain perhaps... But the woman he was actually in a relationship with made a complaint too confused

Go figure.

I'm guessing the relationship being referred to in the past tense is related to the inappropriate touching

Being in a relationship with someone doesn’t mean they always give you consent.

Being in a relationship with someone doesn’t give you permission to grope them.

That's true of course. He must have significantly overstepped the mark in some way - beyond what are normally implied permissions when two people are in a healthy, intimate relationship.

It's beyond me why people can't just behave at work - especially if they have a public image to maintain. Folk are weird.

On the Formula E thread in the General Motorsport section someone posted this link - https://www.planetf1.com/news/jack-nicholls-f1-sac...

This part seems the relevant bit, suggesting that he'd breached an agreement / contract that he signed with FE ("don't date a co-worker" type of thing based on the quote) and 2 other people reported it.

article linked above said:
Nicholls, who previously combined his Formula E work alongside F1 commentary for the BBC, was reported by the Times to have had his contract terminated less than a month after an independent investigation into complaints by three women who claimed to have been touched inappropriately by him.

One complaint reportedly came from a younger woman with whom Nicholls was in a relationship, which went against Formula E’s rules, while two further complaints were made by witnesses rather than those directly affected.

A Formula E spokesperson said: “Formula E can confirm that an investigation was carried out in response to complaints of inappropriate behaviour received about Jack Nicholls.

“Following this investigation, Jack Nicholls’ contract to provide race commentary was terminated.”
