Hi been to a few hill climbs in Cornwall planning a few weekends away, would like to incorporate a hill climb into schedule. Which ones are worth attending South of Bristol ?

Wiscombe Park, Devon. Most exciting hill climb I've done. Technical, and fast in places

Wiscombe or Gurston Down, near Salisbury.

Wiscombe is more technical, but Gurston is maybe a little easier to get to grips with on a single visit. I think it also has a busier calendar, so may be easier to fit into your plans?

I haven’t competed for ten years, but I used to crash better at Wiscombe.

I've done both Gurston and Wiscombe and Gurston is eaier to go fast safe-ish and really work on your section times. Wiscombe sees a lot of hard "offs" after bunny's leap, but after that is twisty heaven through the woods. LSD almost essential (as it is at Gurston round the corner at the top of the hill).

Gurston Down (no laughing please that was my very 1st event - and all that sound of slipping clutch on the tight bends isn't, its one wheel spinning - I had an open diff at the time)

Wiscombe (in my newbie excitement I went out in the wrong group!)
