Considering getting one of these in the next couple of months.
Are there any other comparably powerful/competent cars for similar money (£20K ish) that I may be overlooking?
I'd second the XFR as a very good option:Are there any other comparably powerful/competent cars for similar money (£20K ish) that I may be overlooking?

The F10 is hard to beat as you'll het a nice one with sensible miles on budget:

I owned a Sakhir Orange F10 M5 and it is without doubt one of the best all round cars that I have owned.
Personally I wouldn’t run one without a BMW warranty. Mine had an intermittent electrical fault which ended up with the complete loom and all computers/ecus being changed to resolve it. No cost to me as the AUC warranty paid.
Subject to that point I would highly recommend one.

I've driven a few and owned an F86 X6 M so same engine as the F10, kept the AUC warranty intact during my ownership and yes, I wouldn't want to run any modern M car without the BMW warranty, although maintaining the warranty past 60k miles gets quite expensive. When you look at used examples, don't be surprised to see that quite a few have had replacement engines!
