Quality bulbs - osram, philips, that sort of thing - and don't touch the glass when fitting.

Hrm. Maybe alternator is being told to charge battery all the time at a high rate because its controller (which should be measuring the battery voltage) is buggered. This overvolts the whole car, the lights show the problem by burning out quickly.

Check the output from the alternator with the engine running.

A loose battery terminal can let the alternator voltage spike and take out bulbs, took months to get to the bottom of this problem on an old V8 Rover.

As above - overcharging would be my main go-to.

Mate had a Skoda - kept blowing bulbs, then cooking the electric steering rack, then the folding mirrors, then cooking the battery, then a whole bunch of wiring.

(He fixed it by selling it to webuyanycar after it decided to melt something in cylinder 3 - and all this in 8 months of ownership.)

I used to get through a pair of high output nightbreakers a year - they do also sell long life bulbs with a lower light output but less changing of bulbs.
