There's two issues - trying to show Sky Go content from a laptop on a TV, connected with an HDMI cable

The first problem is that the content plays fast - from searching that can be solved by disconnecting from the HDMI cable and starting the playback on the laptop, then connecting.

That works, but the sound doesn't then 'transfer' from the laptop (MacBook Pro - LG TV) and we have to watch with the audio from the laptop.

Any thoughts, fixes or suggestions?

The control centre in the Macbook will have an option for audio output

Click on the circled icon in the sound section and you should see output options similar to the screenshot below. Select your tv and you should be good.

Hmm, not sure then. I'll have a try with my kit at home.

Thanks - I've been having another go with a monitor this time.

I tried again with airplay onto the TV - the ads played from Sky Go, but then the programme itself just went grey.

The interesting result is that I can't get Youtube to play on a browser either. Weird symptoms such as the video winds through in a second or so and no sound.

Hmm, I tried with Sky Go and Youtube and it works fine when you move the audio over for me. I'm using a USB-C to HDMI adaptor but it should work the same as an HDMI cable.

Yes - using an adaptor as you say

I'll have to do some more experimenting - thanks for your help

I know this sounds strange but you haven't got any updates waiting to go through? Maybe check and reboot too see if that kicks anything back into life.

You said you were using an adaptor. Have you tried a straight HDMI cable? I assume your Macbook Pro has an HDMI out? Any other devices with USB-C to check the adaptor?

No I can't test on anything else - the MacBook is a personal device which only has usb-c outputs.
