Considering a Tudor Pelagos but wondering if I'm missing anything else in this category. Seamaster is the obvious one but I'm not after an Omega as they are a little overpriced these days IMO

Want something not too flashy I could wear to the office / into London ideally.

Basic?

You mean as in function not price?

Is it for diving or just wearing out and about?

I got this for £50. Does the job.

If I want to wear something a bit dressier then I have a Glycine that wears beautifully. This should have been £250:

I have a Seiko Samurai but that’s maybe a bit chunky for office duties, it depends what you like I guess. Still, it’s a lovely thing. It was about £230:

I bought this for my son but he wasn’t wearing it. It was £50. The bracelet was a bit rattly but the wave dial was better than it had any right to be for the price. It’s a Seiko solar powered Quartz.

I owned and sold on a Christopher Ward. Nice thing.

Obviously not the most prestigious brand, but the Invicta 1953 is probably the best watch they make. I’ve owned 2 and still have 1.

Sinn are nice tool dive watches that might appeal.

You can get a casio duro for less than £50 and then a bracelt from aliexpress for less than £15.

For £65 a duro on a bracelet takes some beating.

Basic possibly the wrong word - like the Pelagos I'm after a tool watch both for diving and wearing day to day.

Would prefer to keep the price <£5k so as not to worry too much about wearing it out and about.

Bargain. Let's say my budget is between 1k-5k GBP.

Had mine a decade: couldn't be more pleased with it.

Your money, but 5k on a watch for actual diving is absolutely crackers unless you have scrooge mcduck sized gold filled swimming pool.

Buy a cheap citizen or Seiko for diving and get a nice dive watch for normal wear.

I often wear my Glycine Lagunare into London, use it most days with it's comfy rubber strap.

In that case i'd be looking at an Oris Aquis. Available in various sizes to fit most wrists, a load of different colourways and also various strap options.

This would be my pick. They used to be a bargain pre-owned buy but prices seem to be picking up.

Here's a new one with a decent discount:

Im not normally a fan of this brand but I do like this, given you like the Pelagos you might like this too.

However i think the full size Pelagos is an absolute gem, as long as you can live with a Ti watch and the way it wears (scratches)

This, all day long going by what you have specified.

Tudor Black Bay M79230B-0008
£3,370

Still a full dive watch but smarter than the Pelagos with a suit. Not as expensive as an Omega so you could still use it for diving without guilt if you’re wealthy.

Great options. Think I’d miss the date on the Black Bay though, shame as it’s a good price.
