Buying underwear for your wife's birthday?
I didn't realise it was still 1974

That's better! How about a smoothy maker?
My wife absolutely loves hers, all she then needs is frozen packs of fruit - summer fruits etc, apple juice and ice cubes

Of course the easiest thing to do is let her buy her own. My wife rarely let's me buy as she's already chosen what she wants. I do get to pay though

But it’s underwear with a pair of Birkenstocks.

Needs to be something personal, not practical.

Most women appreciate a nice piece of jewellery. Ask a shop assistant if you need a bit of help with something suitable.

Help us out with things she likes doing.

A new bike if that’s her thing, or a weekend away at a nice hotel near Bicester village if retail therapy is more her style. Something completely random like a week’s falconry course.

If you have a friendly jeweler a private viewing can be fun.

Tell them the type of thing and budget before hand, they have some stuff set out in the back, some fizz, no rush. Much less transactional - none of the ‘only 1 item out at a time’ stuff either smile

Nice food after, a good afternoon/evening out.

Some learnings here from when I bought the engagement ring, didn’t take the wife obviously, but his selection on the table ranged from £3k to £40k, for any subsequent times when the wife came I made sure to specify the budget in advance! Avoids anything awkward hehe

After that I'd be surprised if she went down at all!

Well if some new underwear brings no improvement, you should go to your GP.

Good suggestion.

We have done a hot air balloon before, was good but did get rescheduled 3 times due to weather.
