Renault Laguna with one of those triangular "Keep Your Distance" stickers on the rear bumper, a "Speed Kills"s sticker in the rear window and a "Baby on board" hanging there as well...

...Sitting right on the arse on the car in front at 90+MPH on the M1 with no child in the car

We live in a nation of c:censored:ts :)

I once saw a car on the A12 weaving in and out of lanes as he talked on his mobile phone.

In the back was a "Speed Kills" sticker...

Do as I say......

These people really wind me up. They're the same people who complain about the environmental impact the car has on the planet and yet drive little Tarquin 200 yards to school every morning

Last week I had a van pull out in front of me at a roundabout and I had to swerve around him to avoid a collision. He then started flashing his lights and giving me coffee beans when I got past him.

Virtually everyone involved in the whole 'Speed Kills' thing is a hypocrite, from the Police officer to the Scammer to the Magistrate etc, they all, unless non-drivers, have (and almost certainly do) break the speed limit, yet they pass sentence over others for doing the same.

Would it be 'acceptable' in any other criminal activity? The judge in a Child abuse case a Paedo?, the Copper who arrests a Drug dealer a Pusher? - I think not, the whole system is rotten to the core and makes me

Just pop along to any school and school run time.

Watch the Chelsea Tractors with Speed Kills, Keep Back etc.. stickers on, scream up the road at 50mph, swerve in and out without looking, tailgate, and where I used to live, crash up the kerb repeatedly and of course reverse into the car parked behind..........

Those 'child on board' signs were originally for the benefit of the fire service so that if they arrived at a RTA and saw one on a back window they would go in and look for kid(s). That's why they originally came with sucker attachments so they could be removed when there were no kids in the car.

Of course Mummy completely missed the point and reckoned that if she stuck one on the Volvo estate it would change my driving style when I came upon her on the road, because I'd otherwise drive like a complete psychopath if she DIDN'T have a child on board wouldn't I?

Re: the guy cut up by a van on the roundabout, I had this happen recently, was already on roundabout, had people carrier completely fail to give way, and while I was emergency manouevering to avoid the accident the driver was already flipping me the bird! The fun part was that it was a 7 seater taxi full of family en route to the airport! Excellent service...

Also, regarding the 'women driving 4x4s' thing, I used to live in the country, single-track roads, and lost count of the times I was forced into ditches by farmer's wife-types in oncoming Land Rover Discoverys taking blind bends at 40 mph, no doubt using some kind of advanced driving technique to detect oncoming vehicles to which I was not privy. ...or were they just £uckwits? No doubt on there way back from dropping Jemima and Torquil off at school.

My local council are starting 2 weekly bin collections to make us recycle to save the planet but when they resurfaced my road this week they tipped all the spare tar left over down the surface water drain in the street that feeds a local wildlife reserve and , threw their tarry gloves in my hedge, as well as leaving the pavements and kerbs covered in tar.

I have emailed the council environmental wardens seeking a prosecution of their CEO.

I always assumed those Baby on Board stickers were an example of a particular type of smug self-righteousness, i.e. "Look at me, I've got a BABY and you haven't! How great am I!"

Even worse are those ones that have started cropping up which say Princess on Board, Naughty Person on Board or whatever. Those people are well deserving of a smack IMO.

And finally, the ones that say Babe on Board.... OI! YOU! NOOOOOO!!!!!

Typical of the "speed kills" mentality. Absolutely typical.

hypocrite is the definition of a certain brother in law who was upset at me overtaking a lorry earlier.

i pointed out to him that in the previous 5 days I had not had my car written off, nor had I cluncked a brand new car (the replacement) on a kerb at 45mph and nor had I picked up a speeding fine from Cornwall's finest for doing 97.

Damned right. I always back off and give people with this sort of crap adorning their MPVs extra room to execute whatever crazy maneouvre pops into their head between musing on this mornings 'House Doctor' and what colour they should paint their gazebo....

I give a similar wide berth to anyone sporting a Jesus fish and I have to say that MOST drivers with the Saltire on their cars are cretinous plebheads too...
