Please recommend me a car - UK

Are you not best placed to figure out what your wife finds unappealing rather than asking a few thousand strangers on line?
I'd suggest an old diesel Ford Escort that reeks of stale fags, wet dog and burst colostomy bag but what's to say that wouldn't actually bother your missus?
You as her husband must know what she likes therefore you should have a fair idea or what she'd doesn't... and that could be anything from a old LDV Sherpa to a new GT3 RS and almost anything in between.

Thanks @Alfa Pete - helpful to get a sensible & grownup reply.
Budget: 20k GBP
Size of car: ideally to fit 2 adults & 2 kids
Transmission: Auto.
Usage: Daily commute to work, weekend travel, I also do occasional field work and prefer to use my own vehicle for convenience, so I do have to carry some kit around. (I have business insurance for that purpose)
For perspective, I currently use an A4 and everything fits, just about, so don’t need huge space.
I’m not after anything fancy, something practical and not too thirsty.
Thanks

Helpful and grown up or not, my point remains...
You say you have two cars, what are they as that night give some indication as to where your heads at car wise already plus you say your wife uses yours for reasons you'd rather not go into...
So is that because she's got a Boxster but needs to transport kids / animals / cargo or does she have a electric Mini but hates it... some context may help people guess what it is you want / your wife doesn't want.
Just an incredibly vague request... recommend me a car that my wife won't like. There will be guys on here who wife won't drive anything less than a Bentley Continental, others who wives run stripped out classics and others who's wife cycles and hates cars.
Buy what you want and tell her she's not getting to drive it is another option.

Hoping I understand your initial request OP ....
But you have an A4 which she likes better than her current car, which is .... ?
Just change your car and refuse to give her the key, or the pin-code if it's a Saxo![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
Presumably you want something as different from an A4 as it can be, whilst still being practical etc.
If she's tall, get something small, and vice versa.
