Whilst at Rockinham this weekend for a BARC race meeting, I had the privilege of meeting two lads who had been brought along by a guy who was connected with Caterhams.

The lads are both cancer patients, terminal cancer paitents. They had a great day out, the commentator was fab and let them spend time with him whilst he commentated, they got to do some other jobs around the circuit and spent some time on a marshals post.

They are part of the Teenage Cancer Trust which exists to provide facilities and support for teenagers and young adults. I was absolutely blown away by them I cannot imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes, or indeed in those of their parents.

One of the things the Trust is trying to achieve is dedicated units for teenagers and young adults rather than them being treated around either young children or older people as happens at the moment. The units allow the kids to have a more normal existence - to play pool until 2am and sleep until noon!

The TCT website is here https://www.teenagecancertrust.org/main/

Could I please shamelessly urge you to visit the website and consider whether there is anything that you could do to help? I'm hoping to be able to put together a few more of these trips to race circuits if there are kids who are interested in them.

If you have any other activity that you think that might be fun for the kids to be involved in contact the TCT through the web site. It occured to me that I'm sure there are lots of these kids who, health providing, would love a trip out in some of the flash motors that are around here!

Thanks
