Rubber on the Front - Attack of the Groans
Discussion
OK.. round 3, for those of you who are still following this
So the Chimaera has 205/60/15 RE71s on the front...(which I believe were the OEM) however it seems that the popular Tyre choice for the car; the S02, is normally fitted as a 205/55/15.
Whilst this isn't a huge amount of difference in Profile (20.5mm diameter smaller) is this something I should be worried about..?? what are the rest of you unsing on the front ?
Cheers
Matt.

Now you'd wouldn't be going on a potentially wet track day on old knackered front tyres would you
hope the
are looking down on you. Fit the new ones now. (:theresnowoodenboxsmiley: davidy

Well here in mid-Wales, I can see the edge of the Snowdonia National Park here (about 20 miles out of my office window
), I can tell you that its:-
1) Not raining
2) The sun has been shining all day
3) The temperature is cool
, good for thrashing TVRs
Have good trip

It will be interesting to see how trackdemon gets on. The Toyo Proxes T1-S is supposed to be a far better tyre in the wet than the Bridgestone SO-3. If it is dry in the morning and wet in the afternoon it should see him move up the field throughout the day. Good luck. (The only snag is that's on a Z vs Z basis and won't the T1-S be a V rating? Could be even more interesting.)
Weather Update
1) Winds kicked up
2) Driving Heavy Showers
3) Not good weather for thrapping a TVR
Hope it improves for you M@H
davidy
PS am going to South Wales tomorrow, so won't be able to give you any last minute updates, but the way it is at the moment, don't bring a brolly you'll just blow away

3mm should be fine as long as theres not loads of puddles/rivers of water everywhere, just making sure you didn't have 1.6mm or less!!!! (or were being potentially tight again
)
Ooooh. Saucer of milk.....
