I never finished the second one, but I do think at some point I will get around to it, so I've not done much googling as I don't want to spoil the end of the that game for myself.

So does anyone know if there is going to be a third one? I've bought a PS5 and am slightly tempted to buy the first game again and play it through again before giving 2 another go.

God help us, most over-rated game of all time!

I doubt it. Second one tanked due to controvosies. ND will probably spend the next 5 years doing remakes again.

Really?

I thought these games are by far the best games I have ever played.

I’ve been picking at the first one for nearly ten years. I just find it totally disengaging. Which is odd as I love the Uncharted games by the same developer. I have purchased 2 as it’s £8 on the PS Store.

First one was incredible. I didn’t quite gel with the second one, even though I you can see that it is a very impressive game. I will try it again one day.

I do hope so. Finished Part 1 PC a while back and it was utterly superb, if not a little short.

Lol. Sold ten million copies so far with an insane replay rate & spun off into a critically acclaimed tv series. No way they're not making a third game.

This. More annoying in a world where Days Gone is seen as a bit of a flop.

If you didn't love 1, you'll hate 2 I imagine.

That one is odd, I was aware of its "flop" status but it was free at one point so I picked it up, and thought it was a brilliant game. The change of pace as you play through is really well done, but of course means it's a bit of a slow starter. I got the platinum for it, which is very unusual, was only the second game I'd ever done that for at the time (the other being Wreckfest during lockdown hehe)

I loved 1, top 3 gaming experiences of all time for me I think. I felt that 2 was a better 'game', but a less engaging story, so mechanically, gameplay wise etc., part 2 was better, but the story / characters in the first one really pulled me in and I loved it, so I think 2 was never going to compete with the impact the first one had for me.

What I'm trying to say is that I can imagine some people may enjoy 2 more as a game as I think it's better to play scratchchin

Yeah I think I probably had the same 'issue' as you with 2. Had I never played 1, maybe 2 would have been mind blowingly good?

Two was way better from a gameplay viewpoint, they slickened it up plenty. The universe is beautifully realised in both games but especially so in 2. I've only played them on PS4 but have seen clips of the remake of 1 on PS5 & it looks much improved, not sure about Ellie's yellow tracksuit though.

ppl can argue the toss over the storyline all day but in the end, we're there to shoot everything & both are pretty good for that imo.

I think I need part 1 price to drop a bit more for PS5 before I dive back in, but I am keen.

I also really rated days gone and have competed it twice now.

Currently playing Red Dead 2 and finding it very slow and not very engaging, but I am 70% through so I may as well finish it.

With the success of the TV show, more games are almost a certainty IMO.

Though how the show will fare if it sticks to the plot of the second game for the second season remains to be seen ....

On the TV show, Druckman has already said they're minded to split 2 up into at least two seasons, maybe more. Makes sense in that they have a hit show, so spinning out the source material is logical & it would be a lot to pack into eight episodes or so. Being filmed now I think.

I'm a big fan of days gone and would love either prequel or a sequel.

That very much shows how we are all different. I rate RD2 as one of the most engaging experiences ever. I absolutely loved the laid back western plains feel - riding into sunsets etc. Was beautiful, and good gameplay. I also rather enjoyed Death Stranding (but skipped almost all of the cut scenes) and it is hated by a lot, but, also loved by a lot.

Sometimes I guess its just down to what kind of gaming finx you are after.

I can't stick any of the hack 'n slash games - Diablo etc, or, and of the dodge-roll games - Elden ring etc.

I'm quite enjoying Hogwarts but its not pulling me in hard.

Hogwarts, loved by my 15 year old, very much meh by me, in fact I'd forgotten I was partway through it until I read this thread.

I loved both Last of Us, and thought while the TV series was ok at best the episode with Bill and Frank is was excellently done and if they find the need to pad out 2 for TV seasons I'd like more of the same. They can't keep the same storyline as 2 surely. Agreed there'll be a third.

I also loved Days Gone I picked it up cheap for something to do in lockdown and only realised it was a flop afterwards, ridiculous.

RD2 was brilliant.

Damn I need something else to play.
