When I was younger, I was definitely affected by brands and wanted certain clothes or cars or motorbikes (or were more positively disposed to them) because of the brand.
Over the last decade or so I seem to have moved in the opposite direction and now actively try to avoid branded goods. Mostly I am not convinced the extra paid for most brands is worthwhile and partly I don’t want be associated with them. My wife just says I’ve become a skinflint!

To a certain extent I am.
Keen hiker/camper so go for smaller 'cottage industry' brands. Aside from a sense of helping them build their brand, the goods are normally very good.

Probably a few when it comes to say watches, really like Stowa and Longines.
Clothes, I like unbranded Uni Qlo as they always seem a decent style and fit. Fjalraven for a Winter jacket.
Only really wear trainers in the Summer these days and they have to be Adidas, couldn't wear 'unknown trainers'
but that goes back to being a kid in the '70s.
Puma, coming a close second.
Obviously certain car brands above others, but that's probably a while different topic.

I buy certain brands but opt for the least unbranded items they sell. I prefer buying higher quality clothing but less frequent. Nike would be my go to gymwear brand, Carhartt for work shirts and casual clothing, Ralph Lauren for suits, Calvin Klein for underwear. I do like a Stone island winter jacket as well.
I stick with Mizuno for trainers but that's purely due to the quality, fit and feel of them, the fact that they are not so well know is a bonus too.
I know someone who is an absolute Adidas fanboy, if they sold food and water he would buy it.

I have been 'anti-brand' for decades, blanking out logos on clothing wherever possible. I've no intention of being a walking billboard for F&F and Tu.
Very much my view too. I've removed brand labels from quite a lot of clothing and stick tape over brand names on other products (camera equipment for example).
Buying known brands sometimes equates to buying quality kit, which I am a big fan of. However this is not always the case.
In my teens and twenties I was very brand orientated. Everything I wore was designer - Armani White/Black, Cerruti, Comme des Garcons, Versace etc. Now as long as it fits I'm happy with Primark, Asda, M&S, TKMaxx designer stuff. The main brand stuff I have are performance orientated brands for walking, hiking, caving, mine exploring.
With cars, I've had decent brands but happy to have middling non-showy brands and my interests are less the Lambo Countach of my youth, to more HubNut type cars - I'm on the lookout for my next decent Shed.

Yes, but that's heavily dependant on the brand. Once I find something I like, I tend to stick with it. I don't feel that I am 'on brand' necessarily, and certainly don't aspire to the latest brands, whatever they may be. I am certainly not a fashionable chap, but am generally smart and well turned out. I also tend to avoid the obvious 'lifestyle' brands, as I think sometimes they signal to the outside world nothing but a lack of imagination. I also find that many brands build a reputation with genuinely good products, then switch to cheap overseas labour and the quality declines, but people still buy because of the name.
Not into brands at all, I will buy what I think offers the best value for money for what I need.
Car = Renault Megane, I very nearly bought a Dacia Sandero
Phone = Honor 8X
Clothes = Mostly from Next as they seem to fit me the best
Trainers are probably the only thing vaguely brand related as I will only buy Adidas or Asics Tiger 66 as I like retro looking trainers and I know my size and that these will fit me perfectly.
I am at an age where I couldn't care less what someone I don't know thinks of me based on the Car/phone/clothes etc I own.
