This week I have had the surprise of my life (well possibly month). The local council (gawd bless 'em) have finally decided to tackle the one road on my daily commute that was a real pain in the chuff. This road used to be full of pot holes and came complete with a set of nasty subsided speed bumps.

Now, they have scraped up all the old tarmac, partly dismantled the old speed bumps and covered the whole lot in the finest blacktop. Oh the speed bumps are still there but they can be cleared at 30mph without any fear for suspension componentry.

Now, how rare is that?

Beware of attacking speed humps too quick. I used to regularly hack over some humps a few years back. Daily bouncing for a year finally forced my suspension to collapse Mind you, it was an Open Man'a.

A Manta with collapsed suspension? My old GT/E's was superb. Pity the inner wings collapsed instead...

Ah-ha! they've painted the road markings and it looks as though it will be staying as a gently undulating road. I will, however, still only proceed at 20mph for the sake of the suspension and I'm half expecting a camera and a 20mph speed limit any day now. Ho-hum.

Unfortunately, Ted, my suspension is already past it's best.

Are you sure it was the speed humps? Could it possibly have had anything to do with your diet?
