Delay in invoicing

Is there any limit on the timescale within which an invoice has to be presented by a supplier to a customer ? The case in question concerns work which was done in December 2021. There was dispute as to whether the work had been done properly, with the ball left in the supplier's court at August 2022, when they seemed to accept that they needed to do some remediation, but since then nothing has been heard from them, despite repeated nags.
