Hi all,

Picked up a LHD 1991 S4 Auto on Saturday and loving every min!

Except.. 5 mins after I picked it up, I was in a country lane and pulled over to let an oncoming bus pass and guess what? It clipped my wing mirror and thankfully only cracked the glass...

Being a new person to the porsche world can anyone let me know where I can get replacement glass (and does the glass on these have a heating element?) Wish I could have been at Brands Hatch this weekend - sounds like a blast!

Cheers in advance

www.eurocarparts.co.uk should be a little cheaper than OPC....heated element is just a connector on the back of the mirror that connects to existing wiring.
All in all a 5-10 min job to replace.

Can't help on the mirror issue I'm afraid but welcome to the world of 928 ownership!

Sorry about the mirror, but major congratulations on the acquisition. Check that timing belt replaceent schedule, toss the injection and fuel pump relay and you'll be set.

Hi .. got the new mirror from Eurocarparts - cheers!

1 silly question, is it just a matter of prising the mirror out or do I have to remove any of the wing mirror housing?

Also what do you mean about the injestion/fuel pump relay - change them?

Cheers

Darren

If you look at your new mirror...you will see there is a 1/2 turn lock mechanism which holds it on to the matching fixing in the morror housing...Study the new one and then put the old mirror glass mechanism at an angle so that you can then move the lock mechanism...the 1/2 turn to unlock.....it will then come stright out..

Line the new mirror up on the housing and move the lock tab to lock on this one...to secure...not forgetting the electric heated mirror connection if you have one...This is the kind of job...that may take 1 minute....or 1 hour...depends on luck and if you have the knack...good luck..
