Hi All,
One of the main beam bulbs has gone. Getting it out was fairly easy, trying to find a replacement, no so easy.
In the picture, the light seems to be in a rubber housing. I've talked to Motaclan and I think i've just confused everything as it's definately not a H1 bulb.
Narrowed it down to a D1R Xenon which looks the same.

Does the bulb pull out of the black housing?
Also, this was the working light as the person before me used wingnuts this side and a normal tiny bolts the other side, so this was so much easier to remove to have a look.
I asked in Halfords and the guy said it needed a re-wiring???
Any thoughts/advice/help greatly appreciated.

Im guessing modified?
Probably part of the bulb and it can't be changed.
All looks a bit dodgy to me, you should have ballasts too tucked away somewhere?

Any idea on which wattage to purchase?

35W 4300k
35W 5000k
35W 6000k
55W 4300k
55W 6000k
55W 8000k
Cheers

Looks like a modification by a previous owner.

I would suggest 55W but you need to check the [terrible and undersized throughout TVR] wiring is in good order.

You can get the weatherproof connectors readily enough (ebay Superseal automotive connectors for one version) so cut them off and retain the rubber boots for re-sealing the back of the units. Then rewire the new lamps / bulbs through the rubber boot.

You would need to match the originals as a higher wattage may take the ballasts out.
The 4000k bit is the colour temp, see below for info.
I'm not sure on the legality of the conversion though so bare that in mind.
