My indicators have started making a "bipping" noise, similar to the alarm activating noise, instead of the normal clicking sound. Its loud enough to be embarassing with the top down at traffic lights, however they are still working normally. Anybody experienced this before,or have any ideas as to what's causing it?

Didn't think that would be a problem.

Hi Neil,

Hope you're enjoying the car. The indicator noise you describe was there when I bought the car (I was told that it was because of the engine noise, so that you could hear it!), but mysteriously disappeared one day. As I found it somewhat irritating, I left it as was, but it appears that it has now decided to right (or left!) itself.

By the way, in answer to your previous posting re the boot and a flat battery, you should find the answer to this amongst the paperwork with the car.

Cheers,

Martin

Hello Martin,

Gets better every time I drive it.

Boot problem was only a loose connection on the dashboard switch, soon sorted.

Have also located the other means of access and left it easier to get at in an emergency.

As for the indicators, its the one occasion when I pray for a malfunction .

Hope the move and job are going well.

Neil.

I guess either somebody has added an extra gadget to make the indicator beep, or your alarm is playing up (alarm is wired up to indicators and sounder so could cause cross-talk if it went wrong?).

Thats what it seems like to me, although alarm and indicators are all working normally.

Think I will have to disconnect the alarm and see if it reverts to normal.
