Vauxhall Astra Door Lock Unit Price
Discussion
Hi guys,
My wife’s Astra rear passenger door suddenly stopped working. Couldn’t open it from the outside or inside.Left it two weeks and decided to get a local garage to look at it.
In the end the garage replaced the lock unit at a price of £140. The labour was £63 and then the VAT on top.
Total price was £240.
It’s a 2009 hatchback.
Does this seem a lot to replace a new door lock unit? Were we ripped off or is this about right?

Sounds about right. Thats a good price on the labour, and no idea what a price of a lock would be. I would say you havent been ripped off. If you DIY'd you'd probably get a second hand lock cheaper for say, £50 and I've no doubt youtube would show you how to fit it.
Sadly right, I had to replace the drivers door lock on my 2014 Volvo V40 hatch and it was around £400 from a dealer.
Car is basically just a Ford Focus underneath.
It's a common fault on the V40's of that age unfortunately. Any/all of the door locks can fail. Mine failed locked, so I couldn't even open the door.
