Spray Foam Loft insulation - lenders really hate this stuff and generally will not lend unless removed. Risk of roof rafters rotting after a few years due to damp ingress.

Non-Flushable Wet wipes - if these are the scourge of our drains wtf are they still on sale?

Driver Alcohol/Breath Testers for driving in France - these haven't been a legal requirement for years but Halfords still sell them as 'mandatory for France'.

Cancer sticks, obviously. Should only be available on prescription imho.

.
The issues are caused by condensation - John Wayne goes mad spraying the stuff on, blocking the air flow, and hey presto you get condensation issues and the timbers start to rot.

A terrible idea in that scenario.

They would need to ban all sorts of wet wipes, I can imagine parents of small children would be up in arms. Plus there are lots of other things stupid people will still try and flush like nappies and sanitary products.

Simple answer; there's money to be made from those products.

Even "flushable" wet wipes can cause blockages. Probably worse as people assume they will be fine so more likely to flush them. I've never understood why people feel the need to chuck them down the loo.

The first you can blame on the 'push' for insulating homes. We were 'pestered' some years back to 'spray foam' between rafters in loft. Told them to go away.
A neighbour was taken in and had it done. Of course they're now in the ste as they can't sell their home unless it's removed, so they've decided to stay put.

We just had a load of solar panels fitted, neighbour has seen the benefit we're getting so 'We'll do that too!'
Heard this week the solar panel company 'can't do it until the spray foam insulation is removed'.
I went up in their loft yesterday to have a look... 'F hell!!'

As for 'cancer sticks', from what I see on my daily walks into town, more seem to be smoking than I've seen in ages.
Plus 'Modern' cancer sticks (yeah, not proven ...yet!) ie: Vapes.
Should also be prescription only (imo). Sadly, too late, now tons of 'teens' (and upwards) are 'hooked' on them.

Step daughter - 28 - has started with the Vape pen, tried to tell me it was totally different to a cigarette.
Me: Nope, it really isn't.
Her: Yes it is, it doesn't have nicotine in it and it isn't addictive

Me - roflrofl

My uncle who is 77 got taken in by the spray foam thing about 20 years ago

Fast forward say 20 years, a simple roof leak turned into a whole roof off and replace

Thankfully it was spotted now and not when my cousin went to sell it after he pops his clogs.

Interestingly for the last 30 or so years they have been in our local b and q pushing it as you leave, ip now I think about it, I’ve not seen them for a while

My uncle is very wise usually, so there must be lots of folk who have this pending in their loft and don’t know it’s an issue yet

Another thing to add to my paranoia when moving house

The disposal vapes with little lithium cells in, in 20 years time we will be laughing about how we didn’t pick up the free lithium cells that are all over the floor

This one has me befuddled - not only do you have the clear film wrapper, the cardboard box, the leaflet etc littering the streets but then you have a single-use plastic tube with a light, lithium battery and all kinds of other gubbins just being tossed down too.

That's before you get the clouds of strawberry unicorn fart in your face.

They seem like such a backwards step in a world where we're shamed for using plastic straws,

What I don't understand, is why rechargeable lithium cells are being used in a device (the disposable vape) without the capability to recharge it? A radio control modellers' forum pointed out that these cells could be scavenged for use in low current applications. I asked the question there, but didn't get an explanation.

Because people are using them as loo roll.

Tough, they can buy flannels like my parents did. Massive infrastructure havoc caused by these things, bunging up pipes, sewage works etc. and more plastic dumped into the environment by mouthbreathers. Ban the whole lot.

Because they have the best combination of energy density and cost; without lipo cells vapes would not exist, the price drop made it possible.

I was wondering whether the cells could be repurposed. Since that thought occurred to me I haven't seen a single discarded disposable vape anywhere.

Foul. People in the U.K. should all have douches installed. Smearing st round your arse is disgusting. Even 3rd world countries clean their aholes properly with a water spray instead of just smearing it round.

Indeed, I have a bidet. There's nothing more satisfying than cooling off after the morning ritual after a night of mutton tikka vindaloo and 4 pints of Guinness.

That's what the wet wipes are for, after using toilet role. Id rather keep my hands for eating rather than wiping my arse with them as the civilized 3rd work does.
