When natural disasters strike many Islamic countries they seem to cause far more death and destruction than when they strike "decadent" western societies.

How does he explain that?

That's because when Islamic countries get Twatted its the Christian God wielding his intergalactic magic wand and not Mohammed.

We are all just pawns in some great battle of the Gods.

At the moment, the batteries in Mohammed's magic wand just need charging up a bit, so the decadent Christian west is getting off pretty lightly.

Besides, this business in New Orleans is clearly not the work of Mohammed.

Its good old Thor venting his spleen.

These Norse Gods may be a bit out of fashion, but they can kick ass just as much as Mohammed.

I don't think much of the Greek Gods.

Apart from that Aphrodite bird. She's a bit of a minx.

Cheers

I think the Irish god, Mananann Mac Lir (the god of the sea) had something to do with it too.

Surely Mohammed was only a prophet? Allah is the big man with the power.

I fully endorse the majesty of Valhalla but don't forget the power behind the god of thunder, his dad, Odin.

There's a lot to be said for Wotan, too; an inspiration to generations of goths and vandals.

An entirely predictable conclusion for a religious person with the brains of a leaf.

Tell him that if his logic is correct, then Gulf Wars 1 and 2 and the invasion of the Iraq were God's revenge for Iraq having such a non-Western lifestyle.

See? Easy. I haven't even mentioned plagues of locusts yet.

Hang on a sec - I thought Odin/Wotan was a good guy!?

Or is it because he's god of death / war(?) that goths think he's the dog's danglies?

Goths and vandals were germanic tribes back in the days of the Roman Empire (and before) - not a whole lot of connection with moody teenagers, and people spray-painting walls (although they did sack Rome so I suppose not entirely unconnected).

We normally cop the remnants of the hurricane season in late September/early October, and in fact Katrina is now travelling in a north easterly direction. No doubt when it gets here it will be because Mohamed, just like all of us, hates Tony Blair.

The absence of logic beggars belief.

The Tsunami has hit the hardest mostly muslim communities in Indonesia, in fact in the Banda Aceh province they recently had elected local hardliner muslims.

Explain that ?

you may want to remind this chap that the earthquake in Iran last year killed 25,000 people whereas Ivan, Dennis and Katrina have only killed 2-300 people (as far as I can tell).

the conclusion on the vengeful God theory must be that the Islamic hardliners in Iran are pissing off Mohamed far more than the yanks are.

Pat, you may not think much of the Greek Gods, but the males had a lot going for them in terms of their higher than average fine physiques and handsome faces! Impressive.

Thank you. Having carried out muchos googling, I now have a sketchy knowledge on the whole germanic tribe / invasion thing. Although I have a reasonable knowledge of the gods etc. I have until now been unaware of who worshipped who.

You learn something new everyday.
