I’m sure this has been discussed several times, I’ve got 6 classics ranging from a 1966 Tr4 to a 2001 911/996
When it comes to winter storage I’ m never sure whether it’s ok to have these cars out in the elements or not - but am I wrong. I mean these cars were designed to be outside. Or should I cover them over or find storage for maybe the older less waterproof cars?
I seem to over worry about this every year ??

Personally I wouldn’t leave them out in the elements, I would rent lockups or use one of the car storage places.

As you’ve been doing it for some years, how’s it going?

Most problems will have made themselves known by now I would have thought?

Personally not happy about leaving convertibles outside all year, but a half-cover will sort that out.

Apart from that, you are really only looking at UV damage to trim.
Again a cheap half cover would deal with that.

Leaving them outside is not ideal, however, put them all up on a ramp over summer and hose the undersides clean then spray with oil/waxoyl mix and then when the damp of autumn comes out 1kg silica bags in them to keep the cabins dry.
